9 Best Dinosaur Lego Sets
Let’s start with my reviews:
1. Lego Ideas Dinosaur Fossils 21320
The first model on my list is my favorite Lego dinosaur set. I have recently bought this Lego model myself and I have also written an article about it here: Lego Ideas Dinosaur Fossils review (it includes more photos too). For me, this is the best dinosaur Lego toy because it includes 3 dinosaurs (actually dinosaur skeleton sets – fossils): Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops and Pteranodon. It includes 2 minifigures as well: a Lego paleontologist and a sapiens skeleton figure. Also, I need to say that the Lego Ideas theme is a special one – actually all Lego Ideas sets were not designed by Lego designers but by ordinary people who had submitted their Lego ideas to the Lego company. So I must say that I really admire the person who has designed this model. The building kit is pretty big, it includes 910 pieces in total.
2. Lego Creator Mighty Dinosaurs 31058
The second one on my list is the smallest model of my reviews. It has 174 pieces. The speciality of this model is a 3-in-1 set. Most Lego sets are 2-in-1, which means they have a B model. But this one even has a C model. So you can build with it 3 dinosaurs: T Rex, Triceratops and Pterodactyl (the flying dinosaur). It is a really nice model for kids of the age 7-12. The T Rex model is 4 inch (11 cm) tall.
3. Lego Jurassic World T. rex Rampage 75936
This one is the largest set on my list with 3120 parts. This Lego model features a Tyrannosaurus Rex, the Jurassic Park’s iconic gate (that can be opened) and surrounding walls. It also includes 6 figures: Ray Arnold, Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, Ian Malcolm, Dennis Nerdy and a baby dinosaur toy figure. This set is compatible with any other Lego bricks. So you can combine various Lego models and create virtually anything. The gate is 16 inches (42 cm) high.
4. Lego Jurassic World Triceratops Rampage 75937
This is an another beautiful dinosaur Lego model. It is a triceratops. The set features and Egg Spinner ride (that includes an entrance gate as well), minifigure buggy and a collapsible fence. It also includes 4 minifigures that represent the Jurassic World movie characters: Simon Masrani, Owen Grady, Allison Miles and a tourist. It consists of 447 pieces and is ideal for kids that are 7 years old or older.
5. Lego Juniors T. rex Breakout 10758
Further down on my list is a Lego dinosaur set suitable for younger kids. This Lego Juniors dinosaur Lego building kit is recommended for kids of the age 4-7 years old. It includes a T rex (that has an opening jaw), a truck (that has an opening back), tall gate and a science station. It also includes 4 minifigures: a scientist, a guard, Claire and a baby dinosaur figure. The tyrannosaurus is 4” (11 cm) tall and the whole set has 150 bricks.
6. Lego Juniors Jurassic World Raptor Rescue Truck 10757
This is another Lego Juniors model on my list that is suitable for kids that are between 4-7 years old. It is a very nice small set that includes a green Raptor dinosaur figure with posable limbs and an opening mouth. It also includes an off-road truck with a cage and two minifigures; Owen and a tracker. The whole set includes 85 parts. The truck is 5″ (14 cm) long and the dinosaur is 2″ (7 cm) high. It is a very nice building kit ideal for small children.
7. Lego Juniors Jurassic World Pteranodon Escape 10756
This is the third Lego Juniors building kit on my list that is recommended for younger kids (that are 4-7 years old). It includes a helicopter with a spinning rotor and a figure of a flying dinosaur that is called Pteranodon. It has movable wings. The model also includes a small volcano and buildable lava balls as well. It includes two minifigures too; a pilot and a tracker. The whole kit comes just in 84 pieces, which makes this set the smallest one on my list. The Pteranodon’s wings are 7-inch (20 cm) wide when extended. Overall, if you want a Lego set with a flying dinosaur, I would choose this one. And you can also combine it with the two ones mentioned above.
8. Lego Jurassic World Dr. Wu’s Lab: Baby Dinosaur Breakout 75939
With this building kit, you can pretend to be a creator of new dinosaur breeds. This building kit contains just 164 Lego bricks and it is recommended for all children who are 6+ years old. It is a small set, but you can still build Dr. Wu’s Lab with all the details such as a brick-built dinosaur egg incubator, a microscope, a laptop, an adjustable robot arm, and much more.
It contains two minifigures and baby Ankylosaurus and Triceratops dinosaur figure. Children can recreate exciting Jurassic World scenes and invent new dinosaur breeds. This Lego set is perfect for beginners and it is easy to build.
9. Lego Jurassic World T. rex vs Dino Mech Battle 75938
The last set on my list includes a posable Dino-Mech, a T. rex, a volcanic rock and a boat with stud shooters. The volcanic rock can be opened and it includes a treasure chest inside. It includes 4 baby velociraptor figures: Charlie, Echo, Blue and Delta. It also includes 4 Jurassic Park movie minifigures: Claire Dearing, Owen Grady, Danny Nedermeyer and Vic Hoskins. It consists of 716 pieces and it is an ideal gift for kids that like dinosaurs and are 8 years old or older.
Conclusion
And this is the end of my list. If you read this article carefully, you have already known which one of these Lego models is my favorite one, that I also own. It is the first set, the Lego Dinosaur Fossils set. For me, it is an ideal kit neither big nor small. I prefer medium-sized Lego models. But I also like the Triceratops Rampage set (#4) as the dinosaur model looks really interesting. I hope, you have been able to choose your favorite one too.
Or, if you have small kids (who are 4-7 years old), consider one of the three Lego Juniors sets (the #5, #6, and #7) that I have mentioned in my list. And I would also combine them; I would buy two or all three Lego Juniors sets so that my kids would have more types of dinosaurs to play with.
